Nuremberg is the leader when it comes to recycled paper – Bavaria

According to an evaluation, Nuremberg is the “most recycling paper-friendly city” in Germany. Federal Environment Minister Steffi Lemke (Greens) awarded the city the “Paper Atlas” award in Berlin on Tuesday, as announced by the Pro Recycling Paper initiative. According to the organizers, Bavaria’s second-biggest city achieved the nation’s highest overall score for the use of recycled paper in public facilities. According to this, 100 percent of the paper used by the Nuremberg city administration in 2021 was recycled paper with the Blue Angel environmental seal. The Franconian metropolis also received special points for the use of recycled paper outside of the city administration, for example in public schools. The “Paper Atlas” has been documenting the recycling paper quotas in German cities every year since 2008, and for several years also in universities and districts.
