A girl in Middle Franconia almost lost her life if she kicked a door with a pane of glass. While playing with other children, the ten-year-old tried to open the door with her foot in an apartment in Nuremberg. She sustained a life-threatening cut on her thigh, the police said on Friday. Just a few minutes after the emergency call on Thursday afternoon, a patrol arrived at the apartment. The badly injured girl was already passed out. The officers immediately provided first aid. They reportedly tried to stop the bleeding with a deployment belt, improvised compresses and a tourniquet. With the rescue service, the girl was finally stabilized and transported to a hospital. The ten-year-old is no longer in mortal danger after an emergency operation. Her mother was in shock and had to be taken care of by the ambulance as well.
