Numerous injuries: coach crashed on A13


A coach crashed on the A13 between Staakow and Freiwalde on Friday. Rescue helicopters were in action. Because of the accident, the motorway had to be completely closed in both directions. There were numerous injuries.

A coach with 34 seats crashed on the Autobahn 13 between Freiwalde and Staakow (Dahme-Spreewald) on Friday morning.

According to information from the police and fire brigade, all 19 inmates of the bus were injured. There are 17 passengers and two drivers.

The seriously injured were brought to hospitals in Cottbus and Berlin, as the district administrator of the Dahme-Spreewald district, Stephan Loge, announced. According to the lodge, the travelers come from Germany, Sweden, Israel and Serbia.

According to the fire brigade, the accident occurred shortly before 10 a.m. Six helicopters and 67 emergency vehicles were in use in the morning. The motorway had to be completely closed in both directions.

According to District Administrator Stephan Loge, the bus is a coach from Serbia. He drove into the guardrails at the level of the Krausnicker Berge Ost car park and fell over. Initially, the Lausitz control center had said that the bus had overturned.

All fire brigades and rescue services in the catchment area were in action, the district had activated disaster control units. In addition, the district has set up treatment places. The emergency pastoral care is also alarmed, says Loge.

The police had urgently asked in the morning to form an emergency alley. Motorists were diverted from the Autobahn. Nevertheless, long traffic jams formed on the motorway and on the bypasses.
