The *NSYNC comeback is perfect, but it is small. There will be a new song, but no album or even a joint tour.
Fans have had to wait since 2002 for a reunion of the boy band *NSYNC. Now the time has finally come: On Thursday, a trailer for the new song “Better Place” for the soundtrack of the animated adventure “Trolls 3 – Strong Together” was released. The new work can be pre-ordered now, but will only be available from September 29th. In addition to a new trailer for the film, the information about the release of the new song was also spread on the official film pages via social media. It is the first new musical release since The Neptunes remix of the song “Girlfriend” alongside rapper Nelly (48) around eleven years ago.
The announcement of the new single came just a few days after *NSYNC performed together at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. Justin Timberlake (42), JC Chasez (47), Lance Bass (44), Joey Fatone (45) and Chris Kirkpatrick (51) presented the award for best pop song to colleague Taylor Swift (33). It was their first time in the spotlight together since 2013. At that time, they also performed a medley of their best songs at the VMAs.
Rumors of a *NSYNC reunion have already surfaced in recent weeks after a series of “Trolls” posters appeared in New York City that featured the first letter of the *NSYNC logo and a QR code. The code led to the website TakeYouToABetterPlace.com, which promoted the song in a whistled version.
*NSYNC is apparently not planning a tour or an album
But according to the US gossip portal “TMZ”, this mini-comeback of the boy band will initially remain: An album or even a tour are not planned at the moment. *NSYNC has released three studio albums so far: their debut album “*NSYNC” was released in 1997, “No Strings Attached” followed in 2000 and around a year before their disbandment they released “Celebrity”.
Timberlake will once again be dubbing the main role of the troll Branch in the upcoming film in the original English version. “Trolls 3” will be in theaters on November 17th. He already took on this role in the first two films “Trolls” and “Trolls World Tour”. Anna Kendrick (38) aka Queen Poppy also takes on his female counterpart for the third time.
