Take out the skis. While we have been out of the meteorological winter for a week, snow is making a comeback in the Nord and Pas-de-Calais. In these two departments, the International Day of Women’s Rights therefore promises to be white and slippery.
The temperatures, quite mild on Tuesday, will gradually drop during the next night. According to Météo-France, Wednesday morning, the mercury will climb painfully to reach 2°, but with a feeling of – 3°. It is also during the night that a “snowy episode significant enough to cause difficulties” is expected, justifying orange vigilance “ice snow”.
Up to 10 cm of snow locally on the heights
The forecast confidence index is good, with Météo-France even estimating that “the snow accumulations have been revised upwards a little”. On the ground, the thickness of the white coat will be of the order of “5 to 7 cm, locally 7 to 10 cm in particular on the Pas-de-Calais, even a little more on the heights of the Pas-de-Calais”.
From the end of the morning on Wednesday, the snowfall will turn into rain. There remains a risk of further snowfall during the following night, but to a lesser extent.
