The writer Norbert Scheuer lives in a small town in the Eifel. He has loved the rain since childhood. But then the day comes when it doesn’t stop raining – and the waters simply sweep the place with them.
Since the heavy rain of the last few days and nights has subsided, a milky fog has been hanging over our small mountain village, it’s humid and only drizzling now and then. The Eifel is known as the land of water and small rivers. When it really started to rain a few days ago, I was sitting in my study reading the new novel, which, like the previous ones, is set in Kall down in the valley.
