No new offer in the rbb collective bargaining dispute: unions call on rbb employees to go on warning strike

The trade unions DJV and Verdi have called for a warning strike at rbb on Friday. The background to this is the ongoing collective bargaining, in which no agreement has yet been reached.

In the collective bargaining dispute at Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (rbb), the DJV and Verdi unions have called for a warning strike on Friday. All permanent and freelance workers should stop work between 4:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.

According to the unions, the reason is that rbb did not submit a new offer in the most recent round of negotiations. “More than that: the rbb negotiation commission informed us that it no longer has a negotiating mandate. The reason given was that the director was not yet able to get a complete overview of the station’s situation.”

Most recently, rbb had offered, among other things, an increase in fees from June by 1.9 percent with a term of 24 months plus a one-off payment of a maximum of 2,000 euros.

The unions described this offer as “completely out of the question”. Verdi is demanding an increase of a monthly fixed amount of 555 euros, the collective agreement should have a term of 12 months.
