Nine unions call for a demonstration this Thursday in Paris

Calling for an increase in pensions and pensions, nine unions and associations of retirees – the CGT, CFTC, CFE-CGC, FSU, Retired Solidarity, RFP, LSR, Ensemble et solidaires and the Confederal Union of Retired Force Ouvrière ( UCR FO) – called for a national rally in Paris this Thursday.

The event will start this Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from Place Denfert-Rochereau and will reach the Esplanade des Invalides.

Loss of purchasing power

The unions demand an increase in pensions and pensions to “compensate for the purchasing power lost over the years,” said Force Ouvrière in a press release.

For his part, the CGT denounced, in a press release, the rise in prices, believing that the increase in pensions and pensions should be “proportional to the evolution of the average salary” and that “no pension should be less than the minimum wage”: “In one year, prices have increased by 1.9% while basic pensions only increased by 0.4% and supplementary pensions by 1% (…) Since 2014, retirees have lost between 10% and 12% of purchasing power, i.e. one month’s pension per year. “

But that’s not all, the unions are also calling for “the defense and improvement of our social security in terms of health and retirement”, “the development of local public services” and the “defense of individual and collective freedoms”, FO explains in his press release.
