Newcastle United in the Premier League: Faster than expected – Sport

With all the rumors about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future, there has always been speculation about a commitment to Newcastle United Football Club. Such a move was to some extent obvious because Ronaldo, despite his almost 38 years of age, would have preferred to continue his career in the Premier League rather than with Al-Nassr FC in Saudi Arabia. And because Newcastle is de facto 80 percent state-owned by the Saudis, who have had a strong interest in the services of the five-time world footballer for some time – presumably to use the Portuguese’s charisma to put the autocratic desert state in a better light.
