A new feature is intended to quickly identify connection problems with Android Auto. You can find out how users benefit here.
Android Auto users often complain about disconnections or media playback problems. According to Google, however, in many cases this should not be due to the system or the smartphone. Instead, broken or wrong USB-C cables would be the main culprit of such problems. In order to make these recognizable, the developers have released a new feature for Android Auto.
As Mishaal Rahman, Senior Technical Editor at Esper, discovered Android Auto can now perform a USB check. Users can find this in the settings under “Help on the connection”. The check checks whether data can be transferred through the USB cable. Here it should also be determined whether users are using the wrong USB slot on the car or whether the correct slot is showing an error.

Often the cheapest USB cables are bought, which are sufficient for charging the device, but cannot permanently maintain a connection with Android Auto and Co. Look for a suitable USB cable, we have an overview of the best options for you here.
Google itself recommendsto use a cable that came with the smartphone. These are often high-quality models. Google also emphasizes that users should not use a cable that is too long. Lengths of more than one meter could lead to problems with the connection again.
