Luxury works – even in difficult times. But even the cars with the star on the hood want to demonstrate their climate friendliness. In the case of the new Mercedes GLC, this means: Three powerful plug-in hybrids promise an electric range of more than 100 kilometers. But the most popular Mercedes model doesn’t even try to replicate the soft curves, the streamlined contours and the black front masks of the more futuristic EQ models. And indeed, a version with a pure battery drive is missing. While the compact GLA and GLB crossover models and the newly introduced GLG will soon switch to battery drive, the high-voltage GLC will probably not be available until the end of the decade.
