Jürgen Klopp is looking forward to his new job and wants to learn along the way. Before that we go back on vacation.

Jürgen Klopp explained his upcoming move to Red Bull in a personal video. “A few months ago I said that I didn’t see myself on the sidelines anymore and that’s still the case. But I love football and I love working. And Red Bull gives me the perfect platform to do that,” said the 57-year-old on Instagram.

Successful coach Klopp will soon end his self-imposed break and become the new “Global Head of Soccer” for the Austrian beverage company. He will start his job as head of football on January 1, 2025, as Red Bull confirmed. The “Bild” newspaper reported a five-year contract. It remained officially unclear whether an exit clause had been agreed in the event that a new national coach was needed.

He wanted to share the experiences he has gained over the years. And he wanted to learn again, Klopp continued. Because if you play every three days, you don’t have time for it. “And now I have the time and the opportunity. I want to see, feel and find out what is useful for football. So I want to develop football a little bit further,” said the former Liverpool, Dortmund and Mainz head coach. “I’m really looking forward to it. But now I’m going back on vacation. See you in January.”

It was only in the summer that Klopp gave up his coaching position at Liverpool FC after nine years. He should now work strategically and not intervene in the day-to-day business of the clubs, as Red Bull announced. In addition to the Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, Klopp will now also be responsible for the clubs in Salzburg, Leeds (England), New York, Bragantino (Brazil) and Omiya Ardija (Japan).
