New arson attacks, tags of the clandestine organization “GGC” found

The clandestine organization “GGC” rages a news in Corsica. Four trucks, two lean-tos and a motorcycle belonging to a local construction company were destroyed by fire overnight from Saturday to Sunday in Cauro (Corse-du-Sud), said the public prosecutor of Ajaccio, Nicolas Sept. Tags “GGC” (Ghjuventù Clandestina Corsa, a new clandestine organization which has already claimed similar facts in recent months) and “GTY” (Gloria à tè Yvan, in reference to Yvan Colonna) were found on the spot, according to the prosecutor, confirming information from France 3 Corse ViaStella.

“The construction company had never been talked about”, he underlined, also confirming the track of the criminal origin of the disaster, in particular characterized by the “probable use of an accelerating product of hydrocarbon type. An investigation was opened for degradation by fire and by dangerous means and entrusted to the research brigade of Ajaccio and the research section of the gendarmerie.

Multiplication of arson

The prosecutor also specified that the anti-terrorist sub-directorate was also under observation, and that the National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor’s Office (Pnat) had been “notified” by him on Sunday morning.

Corsica has known for a year a multiplication of arson attacks mainly targeting second homes of French people residing in France, often with the presence of tags, but without official claim. Campsites, beach restaurants, construction companies and construction machinery have also been damaged by arson attacks in recent months.
