Neubiberg – daycare staff is missing – district of Munich

The staff situation in the childcare facilities in Neubiberg is sometimes tense. Six to ten childcare positions are currently vacant, as announced at the meeting of the Social and Cultural Committee on Monday. If it stays that way, “it will be exciting in the coming daycare year,” said head of the regulatory office Fabian Sass. His colleague, who is responsible for childcare facilities, is confident that there is still a lot that can be done before the fall. She also refers to the job advertisements on the website of the municipality. However, the situation is tricky: On the one hand, there are incentives in Neubiberg such as affordable municipal housing and the Munich allowance for potential applicants. But on the other hand, according to Sass, the market has been swept empty and more affordable larger apartments are needed so that interested parties and their families can move to Neubiberg.

Carola Pfeiffer from the Greens also noted that the working conditions in a facility also played an important role and that only the caregivers themselves could say what they needed. Overall, the committee agreed that they wanted to help where they could and that the community should remain family-friendly. At Pfeiffer’s suggestion, the administration has written on the to-do list to start a satisfaction survey in the facilities. Sass suggested that the lack of staff should also be addressed in the district office and in the exchange with the other communities, because it couldn’t be the case that employees were taken away from each other.
