A 39-year-old German was run over on a motorway in the Netherlands. According to witnesses, the man ran after his dog, which had run away at a gas station.

A 39-year-old German died on a motorway in the Netherlands, presumably while trying to capture his dog. The man was run over Thursday evening on the A58 near Moergestel not far from Tilburg and died at the scene of the accident, the police said on Friday. She claims that he ran after the dog on the highway after it escaped from his car at a nearby gas station.

Dutch police are investigating how the accident happened

An investigation had been initiated to clarify the course of the accident, the police said. She did not provide any information about the accident victim’s place of residence. Rescue workers tried in vain to find the dog in a wooded area next to the motorway. Witnesses had reported that the driver had run after the animal.
