World champion Theis excels in his second victory with the Clippers
After winning World Cup gold with Germany, Daniel Theis had an NBA season to forget for a long time. But things have been going well since moving to the Los Angeles Clippers a few days ago.
Basketball world champion Daniel Theis delivered an outstanding performance in his second game for the Los Angeles Clippers and won again with his new team. In San Antonio, the Clippers beat the Spurs 124:99.
Theis recorded 19 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and had a sensational shooting rate of 80 percent. The team around stars Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, James Harden and Russell Westbrook had lost six times in a row before the 31-year-old’s debut on Friday.
“It is so much fun”
“It’s so much fun playing with four future Hall of Famers on the same team. Winning is even more fun,” Theis was quoted as saying by Sports Illustrated. “I don’t care about the throws. I set blocks and free the guys.” Theis was released by the Indiana Pacers last week, where he had only played once this season.
Defending champion Denver Nuggets, after three defeats from four games, won against NBA bottom team Detroit Pistons, but had to do without star Nikola Jokic and coach Mike Malone for long stretches. Both were thrown out of the hall in the first half at 107:103 because they had complained too vehemently to the referees.
