Rangnick praises Austria’s mentality after a clear victory

5:1 against Norway for Haaland: Things went well for Austria’s national team last night. Despite the superiority, the course of the game could have caused concern – Rangnick praises that.
Former Bremen Bundesliga professional Marko Arnautovic scored twice for the German coach’s team (8th, 49th/foul penalty), Freiburg’s Philipp Lienhart (58th) and Michael Gregoritsch (71st) were also successful. Stefan Posch also scored (62′). Ex-Leipziger Alexander Sørloth (39th) scored the interim equalizer for the completely disappointing Norwegians. Captain Haaland had no effect apart from a shot off the post in the early stages.
Rangnick praises header goals
“We played the way we have played in many good games, today it was special against an extremely strong opponent,” said Rangnick. “You have to score three headers against the biggest team in the world first.”
Lienhart was also in a good mood after the success. “That’s what sets us apart, we hardly give the opponent any room to breathe. We’ve proven many times that we have quality on the ball,” said the Freiburg player. “As in the game against Kazakhstan, we had a lot of power on the pitch, a lot of energy. We were very present in the duels.”
