After surviving the corona infection, DFB captain Alexandra Popp can get back into the preparations of the German women’s national team for the European Championship.

The German Football Association (DFB) announced that the 31-year-old striker would travel to Herzogenaurach for the second EM training camp, which begins this Tuesday. The Wolfsburg woman had previously tested negative several times and had been medically examined as required after a Covid illness.

EM endurance test in England

During the training camp in Herzogenaurach last week, Popp tested positive after experiencing mild symptoms. She was then isolated. The following tests of the complete squad and the coaching and support staff were negative.

On Friday (5:00 p.m. / ZDF), the DFB women will complete the final endurance test before the European Championships in England. The team of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg meets Switzerland in Erfurt’s Steigerwald Stadium. The EM starts on July 6th. The German group opponents are the EM second Denmark (July 8th), title candidate Spain (July 12th) and Finland (July 16th).
