Nancy Faeser is one politician who doesn’t seem to be bothered by self-doubt. First, the social democrat placed herself at the head of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, which has 85,000 employees. Faeser is responsible for internal security and extremists, for asylum seekers, the protection of the constitution, cybercriminals, and also for Chinese components in cell phone networks. And because there are apparently still forces left, she will proclaim herself the SPD top candidate in the Hesse election campaign on Friday. Go ahead. The country needs women who take responsibility, precisely where it weighs the most.
