Udo Lindenberg has been in the music business for more than 50 years, but only now – and with the rapper Apache 207, who is 50 years his junior – has he managed a number one hit in Germany.

The song “Komet” together with rapper Apache 207 gave Udo Lindenberg the first number one hit of his career. This was announced on Friday afternoon by GfK Entertainment as investigator of the Official German Charts. “Wow, Leude, for the first time in my life with a song number uno on the singles,” Lindenberg (76) was quoted as saying. It goes off with his “new buddy Apache 207”, who is a good 50 years younger. It was “simply fantastic”. Last week the hit “Komet” was in second place.

So far, the MTV unplugged song “Cello” (with Clueso, fourth place) and 40 years ago the catchy tune “Sonderzug nach Pankow” (fifth place) were the top-ranked songs by the panic rocker. It is already the eleventh number one song for the 25-year-old rapper Apache 207.

Last week’s winner Miley Cyrus swapped places with Lindenberg and fell to second place with “Flowers”. Third place went again to Ayliva feat. Mero (“She knows”).

The top six albums are completely new. Fresh number one is the Hamburg dark rock and gothic band Mono Inc. with “Ravenblack”. South Tyrolean tenor Rudy Giovannini (“The Best”) and music legend Bob Dylan (“Fragments – Time Out of Mind Sessions (1996-1997)” follow. Behind them are the hard rock veterans Uriah Heep (“Chaos & Colour “), then the punk quartet Pascow (“Seven”) and Sam Smith (“Gloria”).
