From poor Bremerhaven to rich Munich: construction officer Jeanne-Marie Ehbauer is happy that the city can spend money on high-quality construction.

Jeanne-Marie Ehbauer has been in charge of the municipal building department since September 1, 2022, making her the head of more than 4,000 employees. She studied architecture with a focus on urban planning in Karlsruhe and Zurich. In 2014 she was elected head of the building department in Bremerhaven for a six-year term. The 54-year-old Ehbauer is a member of the Greens. In an interview with the SZ, she presents her main areas of work and touches on the small and also the very large construction sites in the city.
