Charred trees soar into the autumn sky, broken black wooden beams hang next to cut power cables between ruins. A roll of NATO wire with razor-sharp blades lies on the withered floor, in it a broken children’s boot. On a high wall reinforced with barbed wire someone wrote “Welcome to Europe”, next to it “Human rights graveyard”.
