Several visitors to the Munich Spring Festival got stuck in an elevator after celebrating in the old town. Fortunately, one of them had cell phone reception and was able to dial the emergency number, the fire department said on Thursday.
Because the elevator was stuck in a mechanical fall protection system in the basement of the building in Munich’s old town, it was reported that the emergency control could not be used to move it.
Firefighters would therefore have to loosen the car on Thursday night with a grab and bring it to the exit level. The five trapped people were then freed from the elevator unharmed.
