Munich: vandalism on the car train – Munich

A previously unknown person damaged five new Volkswagen cars parked on a car train at Mittersendling station on Monday night. A Deutsche Bahn employee called the federal police around 1:20 a.m. after spotting someone on the train. Numerous patrols from the state and federal police then rushed to the scene. In addition, a Federal Police helicopter rose to search from the air; despite an hour-long search, however, no one could be found.

According to the current state of investigation, the unknown person climbed onto the car train around one o’clock, got into a vehicle after apparently having found the key, started the engine and drove into a car parked in front of it. This was pushed further and damaged another vehicle. After that, the person climbed onto the train again at a different point, got back into a car and hit the one in front of it. Extensive traces were secured on the damaged vehicles, three VW Passats and one model ID4 and one ID5 each. The federal police are investigating property damage and estimate the damage at a five-digit sum.
