Munich today – news from June 28th, 2021 – Munich

At first glance, of course, the most impressive are the records, i.e. the most expensive real estate sales in Munich in 2020: a single-family house in Bogenhausen for 9.5 million euros, a newly built condominium for 15.5 million euros in Haidhausen (it is 460 square meters, by the way large, each of which costs 33 700 euros) and an office complex for 215 million euros. But these figures from the new 2020 annual report of the City of Munich’s Advisory Committee come from worlds with which the vast majority of Munich residents will never have anything to do with. You are kind of extraterrestrial.

The figures for apartments and houses in average or good residential areas are much more relevant for people from normal life: 730,000 euros for a newly built 75 square meter apartment (9750 euros per square meter) or 1.05 million euros for a row corner house the stock. These are average values for which the expert committee evaluates all real estate sales contracts in Munich.

One could name many more examples from other categories, some of which I have described in this text (SZPlus). Every single number makes you shake your head and automatically leads to the question: Who should still pay for that? And can anyone do something about it? My colleague René Hofmann deals with these questions in a comment.
