Munich: The Riem vaccination center is closed – Munich

The Riem vaccination center will be closed. You must move out of the Riem Exhibition Center by April 14th. Health officer Beatrix Zurek announced this to the city council on Tuesday evening in a preliminary report on corona topics. The vaccination option on the Theresienwiese will then also be eliminated. According to Zurek, the vaccination team only has a contract there until April 30th. The reasons for this are, of course, the current lack of vaccinations in Munich, but also very pragmatic ones. Since the 33rd world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles and equipment (Bauma) will take place from October 24th to 30th, the area in Riem will be needed. At the same time, Zurek explains, despite the currently low demand for vaccinations, “high vaccination capacities must be maintained”. That is why the vaccination strategy will be adjusted from May 2022. There are to be other locations in shopping centers and the vaccination site at Gasteig is to be expanded.
