Munich: The pop star that nobody knows – Munich

Record companies are vying for him, and stars like Beatrice Egli and Wincent Weiss are happy to work with him. Kevin Zaremba is probably the most successful musician in Munich – but hardly anyone knows him. How does that work?

When success was finally within reach, Kevin Zaremba had to go begging. He borrowed fine leather shoes from his best friend, got a ticket through an acquaintance at a record company, and bought a Flixbus ticket from Munich to Berlin for 20 euros. To be there when Wincent Weiss received an Echo, as a national newcomer. That was in 2018, a year before his debut album “Irgendwas gegen die Stille” had been released, and Zaremba was involved in most of the songs – as a producer, as a composer, and sometimes as a lyricist. That was six years ago. Zaremba has now more than 1.9 billion streams on Spotify alone. A larger reach than pop goddess Helene Fischer or rock star Peter Maffay. But nobody knows him. How is that possible?
