Catholic Churches
in the Liebfrauendom Auxiliary Bishop Wolfgang Bischof celebrates the main service on the 1st Sunday in Advent at 10 a.m. accompanied by the Capella Cathedralis under the direction of Domkantor Benedikt Celler, which among other things recites the “Missa secunda” by Hans Leo Haßler; at 5.15 p.m., cathedral priest Klaus Peter Franzl celebrates 40 years of cathedral vespers with the vocal ensemble of the cathedral choir; Evening Mass begins at 6 p.m. in the cathedral.

In the Bürgersaalkirche in the pedestrian zone the Marian Congregation for Men celebrates a Holy Mass at 9.30 a.m. and at 11.30 a.m.; at 4 p.m. there is an opportunity to visit a mass in English, at 6 p.m. to visit a mass in Italian. In St Elizabeth At 2 p.m., hearing-impaired and deaf people have the opportunity to join in the celebration of the Word of God specially tailored to them during Advent. In Visitation of Mary A Holy Mass in German begins at 9 a.m. in the Westend as a Spanish-German encounter. In St Rupert parents and children gather at 10 a.m. for a family service with blessing of the Advent wreaths; An Advent guitar concert begins at 11 a.m.
In St Paul the “Sonata in G minor for viola da gamba and obbligato harpsichord” by Johann Sebastian Bach, performed by Jost Hecker and Peter Gerhartz, will be heard in the Sunday Mass at 11 a.m.; At 8.15 p.m. the devotional “Tat Ort Zeit” begins, this week with the finissage of the exhibition “Leavements” by the artist Ruth Geiersberger, accompanied by contemporary music.
