Munich: The accused admits to taking hostages and sexual assault – Munich

The 26-year-old is on trial for allegedly getting into a woman’s car in a traffic jam and threatening her with a knife. Then he is said to have tried to rape her.

In Munich, a man is on trial for taking hostages and particularly serious sexual assault. He admitted on Wednesday before the Munich I Regional Court that he got into a woman’s car in a traffic jam in January 2022, threatened her with a knife and kidnapped her. According to prosecutors, he then tried to rape her.

Through his lawyer, the 26-year-old admitted the allegations of the prosecution “in full”. According to the indictment, the man locked the doors and forced the 25-year-old to drive to a remote location. There he is said to have forced her to undress before attempting to rape her. According to the prosecutor, she trembled with fear – and finally fled naked through the snow.

She is still suffering from the crime today, said the woman’s lawyer. The court therefore wanted to spare her from having to testify in the courtroom and announced that she would use a videotaped statement in the proceedings. The trial was delayed by around two and a half hours because the psychiatric hospital where the Turkish defendant is currently staying had forgotten his court date.
