Adrian Fröhlich, 20, founder of the Thunderground collective, wants to show that the rave scene can do more than celebrate excessively with a fundraiser. Three other Munich techno collectives have already promised him their support. The goal: donate clothing and income to the homeless. Adrian calls for this in Telegram channels, in the midst of reports about the next raves, some of which have not been announced. Thounderground has been around since last year, and since March they have been holding regular parties in and around Munich.
Adrian looks back on the year with satisfaction. While they didn’t make much profit, they did build a wide reach, he says. And he wants to use this reach. “If we have the chance to make the world a little better, we should take it. We want to make a statement this year and show that our scene is all about togetherness and charity,” says Adrian. Therefore, since the beginning of December, it has been possible to bring donations of clothing to the Thunderground events. A portion of the proceeds will be used to buy food vouchers and sleeping bags. One day before Christmas Eve, Adrian would like to distribute the donations together with other collectives and the knowledge of the homeless aid “Aktion Brücke”. So far, not much has come together. And it is also difficult for them as a young collective to say how much money they will actually have at their disposal in the end. “Even if we only reach 20 people with our help in the end, that’s a success,” says Adrian.
