Munich: Tailwind for new Wiesn boss – Munich

Christian Scharpf, currently mayor of Ingolstadt, is the designated economic advisor. At the official presentation alongside Mayor Dieter Reiter, the lawyer proves himself to be a good connoisseur of the Oktoberfest and a family man.

He has been haunting Munich City Hall behind strictly closed doors for a few weeks now, “the political coup,” as Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) calls it. Now he is standing in the flesh on a roof terrace in the Werksviertel right next to the Ostbahnhof, fourth floor, looking out over his old and new home: Christian Scharpf, 52 years old, also mayor of nearby Ingolstadt, also a Social Democrat and now the designated new Munich representative for work and the economy. Which also means: the new Oktoberfest boss, who is responsible for organizing the largest folk festival in the world.
