Munich: Stephanie Jenke remains Gasteig boss – Munich

The current interim boss Stephanie Jenke will lead the Gasteig permanently. The supervisory board of what was previously the most visited cultural center in Europe expressed its confidence in the 53-year-old lawyer to lead the Gasteig into the future. A year ago she took over from the then boss Max Wagner, who had moved to a foundation. She had received an annual contract for the transition, which was now expiring.

During this time, the city advertised the management position of its wholly owned subsidiary Gasteig München GmbH. According to reports, the supervisory board decided unanimously that the long-time legal advisor and authorized representative Jenke should stay. She feels well prepared for this. “Last year I took over the interim management relatively spontaneously. Now I have had twelve months to experience first-hand on a daily basis how exciting, demanding, but also enriching these tasks are.”

Her term of office will be equally influenced by cultural and construction issues. The main building on the banks of the Isar has already been cleared for the planned general renovation, but the work will probably not be completed until 2033. The complex, step-by-step recovery must then take place. Until then, the operation and the building at the interim location HP 8 in Sendling need to be managed.
