There should be free period hygiene articles at Munich schools. The schools can purchase the products from their own budget. As Stadtschulrat Florian Kraus reports, the decision as to whether they want to provide such hygiene products is up to the school family.
The legal examination has shown that period hygiene products cannot be counted as material expenses, but the city of Munich wants to assume the costs as a voluntary service. The department for education and sport now wants to approach the schools and inform them about this regulation. The city council is informed, it also receives feedback on the scope of the orders from the schools.
The Unterfoehringer municipal council decided a few days ago to offer hygiene articles free of charge in schools, in the community center, sports and youth center and on the children and youth farm.
