Even now, traffic is usually slow at Sendlinger-Tor-Platz. Now the place really becomes a traffic jam trap for a long time. Because the conversion of the Sendlinger Tor underground station is already well advanced, the city has started to redesign the surface.
Currently, traffic on Lindwurmstraße near the square is only one lane. From Monday, March 6th, the lanes on Sonnenstrasse, Blumenstrasse and Oberanger will also be reduced. Only one straight lane will be available in each direction until May 26th. Only one lane is left for turning vehicles.
On Tuesday, March 7th, the traffic lights will be renovated and will therefore not be in operation. Drivers should avoid Sendlinger-Tor-Platz as far as possible. For example, you can get from Lindwurmstraße to Sonnenstraße via Goethestraße and Schwanthalerstraße.
