The police arrested a 33-year-old suspect who is said to have tried to rape a 67-year-old person in women’s clothing in Munich’s Maxvorstadt on Christmas Day. The 67-year-old felt she was being followed by a stranger in Augustenstrasse around 10:40 p.m. and asked him shortly before her apartment to leave her alone, said a police spokeswoman. The alleged perpetrator then clasped her from behind, tried to kiss her and pressed her against the wall of the house.
The 67-year-old struggled, bit the perpetrator’s tongue and yelled for help. The 33-year-old had closed her mouth, reached under her skirt and “performed sexual acts”. Only when a passer-by became aware of the situation did he flee and take his victim’s handbag with him.
An immediate manhunt led to his arrest. According to the police, he had an alcohol content of more than two per thousand. He was already known to the police for several crimes in Bavaria, including twice as an exhibitionist. He is now in custody in Munich.
