Max Goldt likes to stop by the Munich Volkstheater at the end of the year. Last year, however, the circumstances were not so amusing, as the theaters were only allowed to occupy a quarter of the audience seats. Emptiness when it’s supposed to be funny – a difficult basic constellation. On Thursday, December 29th, there will be a new edition of “Max Goldt Reads” in the house on Tumblingerstrasse. The columnist, writer, comic author and musician reads from his equally fine and funny language works, old and new is announced. His way of emphasizing and stretching the words, emphasizing the insignificant, which he lets collide with the significant or supposedly significant, is wonderfully dry and has an almost magnetic effect on a large fan base. It is all the more surprising that there are still tickets available at the moment. This is certainly not the case every year, even if Max Goldt tends to return in this rhythm.
