Munich: Maria-Einsiedel-Bad is being renovated – Munich

When the next bathing season begins in late spring 2024, the Maria-Einsiedel-Bad in Thalkirchen will show clear signs of major renovation. The focus is on the restaurants on the edge of the complex (“Floßlände” restaurant) and the outdoor pool kiosk with a beer garden. “We would like to improve the quality and customer service,” said the Munich Municipal Utilities (SWM).

In consultation with the tenant, the kiosk will be completely rebuilt as a first step. Until it goes into operation, a food truck will ensure the supply of bathers, according to the municipal utilities. The renovation of the listed restaurant will take “a little longer” due to the extensive work. However, the planning for this was already underway. In this case, the renovation is expected to take around two years before the restaurant and beer garden can go back into operation.

With the future offer in the Maria Einsiedel natural pool, the municipal utilities promise that “the level of quality that is desired for the Munich pools will be achieved again”. Because of its extensive grounds, its 50-meter pool with a paddling area for the youngest and a spacious children’s playground, the pool in the south of Munich is widely considered an attraction. Its beginnings go back more than a hundred years. The SWM likes to advertise the recreation facility on Zentralländstrasse with the motto “Swim like in a bathing lake”. Short-term problems with the water quality have been overcome and the biological purification has long been working properly again.
