A major fire at a construction site in Harlaching destroyed 26 cable drums for fiber optics and empty conduits. The flames spread to hedges and fences and threatened residential buildings, the fire department said.
A resident reported the burning cable drums on Friday night. When the emergency services arrived at the construction site on Bozzarisstrasse, they were met with flames several meters high. According to the information, hedges and garden fences of residential buildings on the opposite side of the street caught fire due to the enormous heat. A window pane on a residential building had cracked due to the heat.
