Munich: love letters of the Electress Elisabeth Augusta – Munich

from

Wolfgang Gorl

On March 26, 1743, the Palatinate Electress Elisabeth Augusta wrote to Clemens Franz, Duke in Bavaria: “Monsieur, I promised to answer you on Tuesday and I keep my word to answer your letter. It is impossible, recently I was in the rooms Your Highness, where I read your beautiful writing, I could not stop, my heart ached so much that I can no longer find my beloved one. I would like to be a witch, if I knew what I want to tell you to write. I have many things on my mind, but I am in no condition to explain myself.”
