It was probably not a real surprise for most Stadtwerke customers – and certainly not a pleasant one: the annual bills for gas purchasers, as announced several times by SWM, brought significant increases in the monthly advance payments for the coming year. SWM reports that the deductions have doubled across the board – if there are other factors such as the billing time and period or higher individual consumption, the increases can also be many times higher. The reason for the increase is primarily the increased energy prices due to Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
