Munich: film student draws attention to the situation in Iran – Munich

Arioo Barsin fled from the Iranian regime to Germany. With a street performance, the Munich film student shows the oppression of Iranian women, the violence experienced by his compatriots and the fight for freedom.

A blood-smeared flag looms in the center of the square. It is the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The voice of a local musician sounds in the background, while a moral guard with a baton patrols the square. However, this film scene does not take place in Tehran, the buildings that can be seen in the background indicate the Geschwister-Scholl-Platz in Munich. It is not for nothing that Arioo Barsin (Name changed by editors) let his play take place there. “Because in this place,” says Arioo, “people have already had to experience maximum violence.”
