The Stadtradeln campaign, which aims to protect the climate, is going into a new edition. The district of Munich is taking part in the bicycle campaign from June 26th to July 16th this year. In 2021, the 29 municipalities saved a total of 192 tons of CO₂ through the campaign – a value that the organizers want to exceed this year. Her concern is to persuade as many people as possible to permanently switch to cycling in everyday life. Stadtradeln is the largest municipal network of cities, communities and districts for the protection of the world climate. The campaign has more than 1700 members in 26 European countries.

For the third time this year, school cycling will also take place at the same time. The most active bicycle schools in the district of Munich are identified. Not only the students can participate, but also the teachers and parents. At the end of the promotion period, the schools with the most kilometers traveled will be awarded.

Participation is free of charge. The kilometers collected can be entered online on a daily basis at www.stadtradeln.de. They should be entered in the “online bike calendar” no later than one week after the end of the campaign. The municipality with the most kilometers collected receives a bonus of 5000 euros from the district of Munich. Those interested can apply at www.stadtradeln.de/landkreis-muenchen register and then either create your own team or join an existing team.
