Munich: Citizens’ Council discusses urban design – Munich

The Citizens’ Council for Urban Development, appointed by the city, will begin its work shortly. It is made up of a total of 100 people, whose diversity reflects the entire urban society of Munich. To kick things off, Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) is inviting all participants to a reception at the Plantreff, the platform for urban development, at the end of June to get to know each other. The committee plans to meet for the first time in the town hall in July. A total of four meetings are planned for 2024.

The selection process was carried out in two stages: First, 10,000 people with their main residence in Munich and a minimum age of 16 received an invitation from Mayor Reiter. A total of 800 people responded, and 100 people were randomly selected to represent all Munich residents. Together, the participants will now begin a process lasting several months with the support of a professional moderation team and expert input.
