Munich: car crashes at the Richard Strauss tunnel – traffic jam – Munich

A serious accident with an injured driver caused an hour-long traffic jam in the east of Munich on Thursday morning. The 45-year-old from the Munich district left Einsteinstrasse at around 2.15 a.m. shortly before the transition to the A 94, broke through a railing and, according to the fire department, fell several meters into the entrance to the Richard Strauss tunnel.

The car stayed on the roof. The driver was able to free himself, but had to be treated on an outpatient basis in the shock room of a clinic. Because the police found the man to be alcohol using a breath test, they ordered a blood sample and confiscated his driver’s license. The fire brigade secured the scene of the accident. For the repair, the tunnel entrance into the city had to be closed until the morning.
