An aircraft bomb was found during construction work on Friday near an apartment building on Ostpreußenstrasse in Munich’s Denning district. Police and firefighters are on site. A specialist company for explosive ordnance disposal has also arrived, the fire brigade said.
It is a 250-kilogram American-made explosive device from World War II that was discovered during excavation work. The immediate area has already been cleared. According to the fire brigade, the current evacuation radius of 500 meters should probably not be expanded further. Once the evacuation is complete, defusing the bomb will begin, but this could take a few hours.
