Munich-Bogenhausen: 14-year-olds killed – police are looking for a friend – Munich

A 14-year-old girl was found dead in the Bogenhausen district of Munich on Sunday morning. The girl showed traces of violence, a violent crime is assumed, said a police spokesman on Sunday. The police have not yet confirmed media reports that the girl was stabbed.

The homicide squad is now investigating. The suspect is a 17-year-old from Munich, from whom it is not yet clear whether it is the girl’s ex-boyfriend. The police were still looking for him on Sunday afternoon. According to the police, the two are said to have known each other, apparently a “previous relationship” existed, said a police spokesman. The police did not provide any information as to whether it could have been an act of relationship, not even about possible other motives.

The police had apparently been called on Sunday morning by the mother of the 14-year-old at 7.40 a.m. to the house in the Denning district of Bogenhausen. The act must have happened during the night. Rescue workers tried in vain to reanimate the girl.

The police are looking for “with everything that is available”

Already in the morning there was a large police operation in the tranquil area in the east of Munich. A helicopter rattled over the family houses, and a hundred officers searched the area – according to the police, this is routine with a homicide.

At the scene of the crime, the police carried out extensive forensic investigation. In the afternoon, the street in which the alleged homicide occurred was closed. Camera teams were posted in front of the cordon, and police officers made sure that no one could get behind the red and white cordons. A resident who wanted to drive to his house was not allowed through either.

Police spokesman Sven Müller said in the afternoon at a press conference near the crime scene that the police would now collect all information “with everything that is available” and proceed as a matter of routine, for example checking the suspect’s contact addresses and social environment. The entire Munich police force is involved in this. As is customary in such cases, the girl’s body is to be autopsied. According to the police, it was still unclear when the autopsy would take place on Sunday afternoon.

No details so as not to warn the suspect

According to police statistics, the clearance rate for murder and manslaughter is very high. The security report lists six murders and 20 attempted murders as well as seven cases of manslaughter and 31 cases of attempted manslaughter for Munich in 2020. A total of 64 homicides were included in the statistics last year. Because many of them are longer in the past and are only subsequently recorded in the overall statistics when the information is cleared up, it can happen that the clearing-up rate is mathematically more than 100 percent. The Munich police succeeded in doing this with a good 101 percent in 2020.

In the search for the alleged perpetrator, according to police spokesman Müller, “standard processes” were now running. You won’t talk about details “as long as we don’t have him”, you don’t want to warn him either.
