When Prime Minister Söder blew the wolf and bear hunt in the Inntal mountains, Minister Aiwanger, the chief thinker of the state government, was also there. Like all the scowling politicians, he called for the strictly protected wolves to be shot down, and then Aiwanger targeted his favorite enemies, the green-voting and otherwise suspect city dwellers. If the “big city ecologists” see things differently with the wolf, then, according to Aiwanger, “they should keep the animals they want to keep there in Munich and leave us alone.”
