Deutsche Bahn’s winter timetable brings Munich new connections to Holland, Italy and Switzerland. Tickets will go on sale next Wednesday. The pre-booking period for domestic trips is extended from six to twelve months. This means, for example, that saver price tickets for the 2025 summer holidays can be booked well in advance.
With the ICE directly to Amsterdam
Travelers from Munich can now reach Holland via ICE during the day without having to change trains. The ICE at 4:28 p.m. from Munich will in future travel beyond North Rhine-Westphalia to Arnhem (10:27 p.m.), Utrecht and Amsterdam (11:29 p.m.). In the opposite direction, the ICE starts in Amsterdam at 8:30 a.m. and reaches Munich at 3:27 p.m.
Further ECE Munich – Lindau – Zurich
The highly demanded ECE connections between Zurich, Winterthur, St. Gallen, Bregenz, Lindau-Reutin, Memmingen, Buchloe and Munich, which have been gradually expanded in recent years, will be supplemented by an eighth pair of trains. It departs Monday to Saturday from Zurich (5:35 a.m.) and reaches Munich at 9:05 a.m. In the opposite direction, a late direct connection from Munich (8:55 p.m.) via Memmingen and Lindau-Reutin (10:52 p.m.) to St. Gallen and Zurich (12:27 a.m.) will now be offered from Sundays to Fridays.
More trains to Italy
From Munich via the Brenner, connections beyond Verona are becoming more frequent during the day. In the future, we will go to Venice twice a day all year round. From April 17th to October 5th, 2025, a third Railjet will travel daily to Bologna. During this period, a Railjet also travels beyond Bologna to Rimini (5.30 p.m.) and Ancona on the Adriatic (7.10 p.m.). The train in the opposite direction starts from Ancona at 11.30 a.m. and reaches Munich at 8.26 p.m.
New commuter connections
An ICE that previously ran from Treuchtlingen during the week to Donauwörth, Augsburg (7:06 a.m.) and Munich now starts in Nuremberg (5:47 a.m.). An IC that previously only runs Monday to Thursday in the afternoon from Munich (4:07 p.m.) and Augsburg (4:42 p.m.) to Donauwörth (5:02 p.m.), Treuchtlingen and Nuremberg (5:59 p.m.) with a connection to Berlin will also run on Fridays in the future.
