Munich: Accident with ambulance – pedestrian with life-threatening injuries – Munich

A 41-year-old from the Munich district suffered life-threatening injuries when an ambulance was deployed on Sunday night. The man wanted to cross the road on Lindwurmstrasse around 12:15 a.m. As an ambulance with flashing lights and siren raced out of town to take a patient to the hospital, the man stopped on the road, according to police. But he swayed so much that the ambulance caught him with the left wing mirror.

The 41-year-old, who the police believe was “significantly under the influence of alcohol,” was seriously injured and taken to hospital under ongoing resuscitation. It is not known whether the man came from Oktoberfest. As of now, his life is out of danger. The occupants of the ambulance were uninjured.

After the accident, Lindwurmstrasse had to be completely closed in both directions for one and a half hours. The Munich traffic police have taken over the investigation.
