Anyone who wants to be a proper mayor needs to have a few memberships in clubs and other groups that shape a municipality. Dieter Reiter from Munich is even the mayor and is a member of the volunteer fire department, the Ifo Institute, the Verdi trade union – and, oh yes, the SPD. As for the MTTC Iphitos tennis club, however, Mayor Reiter explains: “Neither I personally nor any member of my family is a member of the club.” Good to know.
